Faceted labradorites set in copper form a potent combination. The labradorescence of labradorite displays flashes of blue, green, gold, and purple, reminiscent of the Aurora Borealis, or Northern Lights. According to Norse mythology, the colors of the sky were trapped within the stone, mirroring the Bi-frost Bridge, a burning rainbow bridge connecting Earth to the realm of the gods.  According to Inuit legend, a brave warrior discovered the Northern Lights (Aurora) trapped within rocks along the coast of Labrador, Canada. He struck the stones with his spear to release the lights, yet some remained, creating the iridescent “labradorescence” seen today, making it a powerful stone of transformation and protection.
